Fabric CI/CD at scale: A template for standard and quality deployments

October 29, 2026 / 1:45 pm - 2:15 pm

In this session, we give a quick overview of Fabric CI/CD, show the pitfalls of a common setup, and demo how `fabkit` catches them before they reach production. You leave with a tool and a template you can use as they are.

Fabric CI/CD at scale: A template for standard and quality deployments

Fabric CI/CD has come a long way, but not far enough, as we found out in production. Teams had different approaches, skills and goals, and without a standard their deployments drifted apart. A deploy could even report success while the result was wrong: a parameter skipped because of the wrong casing, a placeholder in production, a semantic model published without its connection. We added guardrails on top of `fabric-cicd` to make sure every deployment runs as expected. This grew into `fabkit`, an open-source tool: one upstream package holds the shared checks and workflows, and each team's downstream repository starts from its template. It applies to any number of teams, repositories and environments. In this session, we give a quick overview of Fabric CI/CD, show the pitfalls of a common setup, and demo how `fabkit` catches them before they reach production. You leave with a tool and a template you can use as they are.
